IRIS

Public. Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) identifies and characterizes the health hazards of chemicals found in the environment. Each IRIS assessment can cover a chemical, a group of related chemicals, or a complex mixture. IRIS assessments are an important source of toxicity information used by EPA, state and local health agencies, other federal agencies, and international health organizations.

TRI

Public. Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) tracks the management of certain toxic chemicals that may pose a threat to human health and the environment. U.S. facilities in different industry sectors must report annually by July 1st how much of each chemical is released to the environment and/or managed through recycling, energy recovery and treatment. (A “release” of a chemical means that it is emitted to the air or water or placed in some type of land disposal.)

EJScreen: Environmental Justice Screening and Mapping Tool

Public. As described on the EPA website: EJScreen is an EPA environmental justice mapping and screening tool that provides EPA with a nationally consistent dataset and approach for combining environmental and demographic socioeconomic indicators. EJScreen users choose a geographic area; the tool then provides demographic socioeconomic and environmental information for that area. All of the EJScreen indicators are publicly-available data. EJScreen simply provides a way to display this information and includes a method for combining environmental and demographic indicators into EJ indexes. EJScreen users should note there is substantial uncertainty in demographic and environmental data, particularly when looking at small geographic areas. EJScreen is not intended to provide a risk assessment. Also, EJScreen does not provide data on every environmental …

Envirofacts

Public. The Multisystem Search Form allows you to search multiple environmental databases for facility information, including toxic chemical releases, water discharge permit compliance, hazardous waste handling processes, Superfund status, and air emission estimates. Search the Envirofacts database using any combination of the following criteria: facility name, geography, facility industrial classification, or pollutant. A search returns a list of facilities that match the criteria entered.
